The SCIENCE of the ARTS

چکیده
Arts at a Disadvantage Most of what the brain learns—such as fine and gross motor coordination, emotional intelligence, complex knowledge, stress mediation, and relationship skills—requires maturation and refinement. If schools value a narrow range of specific test scores—and if those tests measure only math, problem-solving, and verbal skills—arts are at a clear disadvantage. And if we only value immediate results, arts are at a disadvantage. Because the value of arts is both generally distributed across the range of human performance and because they are time-consuming, they are effective, not efficient. Students of the arts develop neural systems that often take months and years to fine tune, and the benefits students experience range from enhancement in fine motor skills to better emotional regulation, so there is a lack of immediate and obvious causal effects. When education resources ebb, the arts are the f i rst things to be cut f rom the curr iculum. But research suggests that the benefits of the arts are pr iceless. ARTS EDUCAT I ON in

Phytosynthesis and Biological Activities of Fluorescent CuO Nanoparticles Using Acanthospermum hispidum L. Extract
Copper oxide nanoparticles (CuO-NPs) synthesized by an implicitly environmentally benign process using Acanthospermum hispidum L. aqueous plant extract as an effective bio-oxidizing/bio-reducing agent. Phytochemical screening of the fresh aqueous leaves extract showed the presence of coumarins, tannins, saponins, phenols, flavonoids, sterols and volatile oils. Fourier transform infrared spectro...
متن کاملMetric and periodic lines in the Poincare ball model of hyperbolic geometry
In this paper, we prove that every metric line in the Poincare ball model of hyperbolic geometry is exactly a classical line of itself. We also proved nonexistence of periodic lines in the Poincare ball model of hyperbolic geometry.

This contribution reports an ecological benevolent route for the fabrication of copper oxide nanoparticles (CuONPs) using Leucaena leucocephala L. leaves extracts at room temperature. Phytochemical screening of the fresh aqueous leaves extract showed the presence of tannins, saponins, coumarins, flavonoids, cardial glycosides, steroids, phenols, carbohydrates and amino acids. Copper oxide parti...
متن کاملAntimicrobial activity and characterization of biosynthesized silver nanoparticles from Anisochilus carnosus
Silver nanoparticles with size of 6- 57nm were synthesized by bioreduction method from Anisochilus carnosus aqueous and ethanolic extract. Biosynthesized nanoparticles showed maximum antimicrobial activity against K. pneumonia (13±1.67mm), E.coli (13±1.97mm) and B. subtilis (13±1.07mm) followed by P. aeruginosa and minimum against <...

متن کاملThermoelastic Response of a Rotating Hollow Cylinder Based on Generalized Model with Higher Order Derivatives and Phase-Lags
Generalized thermoelastic models have been developed with the aim of eliminating the contradiction in the infinite velocity of heat propagation inherent in the classical dynamical coupled thermoelasticity theory. In these generalized models, the basic equations include thermal relaxation times and they are of hyperbolic type. Furthermore, Tzou established the dual-phase-lag heat conduction theo...
